MTG Deck Tester for Commander

Draw a hand. Play your first turns. Find out where your Commander deck gets stuck before you buy the next upgrade.

Play through your deck

Practice opening hands, mulligans, and your early turns at the playtest table. You make the decisions.

Check your mana

Run simulated starts to see how your lands and ramp support the spells you want to cast.

Make your next change count

Test a few hands, note what held you back, then change a few cards and try again. Use the mana calculator for color problems or the deck analyzer to check the rest of the list.

Keep a deck worth coming back to

Try the tools for free. Create an account when you want to save a private deck and keep earlier versions.

My Decks

Getting started with deck testing

Can I test my deck for free without an account?

Yes. Open the playtest table or mana simulator and choose a deck. You can try the tools before signing up. An account lets you save a private list and return to its earlier versions.

How do I bring my own deck?

Use the deck chooser in the tool, or start with Deck Import. Bring a supported public deck link or paste a text list. Check that your commander and all the cards were recognized before testing. If a website blocks the import, use its text export.

Which test should I start with?

Use the playtest table when you want to make mulligan decisions, sequence spells, or practice your first few turns. Use the mana simulator when you want to check land drops and ramp over many simulated starts. Both are more useful when you have a specific question about the deck.

Can I practice opening hands and mulligans?

The playtest table lets you draw hands and practice your choices. Look for enough mana to get started, access to the colors you need, and something useful to do. Repeat with several hands so one unusually good or bad draw does not drive your next change.

Will this tell me my deck’s win rate?

These tools help you practice and check consistency. They do not measure how often your deck beats other players. Opponents, interaction, sequencing, and your table’s expectations all affect real games. Read each simulator’s assumptions alongside its result.

What should I change if I keep missing land drops?

First check how often the problem repeats. Then review your curve, land count, colored sources, and early ramp in the mana base calculator. A land that enters tapped or produces the wrong color may still leave you unable to cast your early spells.

How do I compare a few upgrades?

Keep the original list, change a small group of cards, and repeat the same exercise. Write down what you hoped to improve, such as casting your commander sooner. Check whether the change helped that goal and whether it introduced another problem.

Can I save the version I like?

Open the list in the deck builder and save it to My Decks. If you already have a deck in your workspace, the save button above keeps that list. Give versions useful names so you can find the changes after your next game.
