Choosing a budget Commander deck

Are these complete Commander decks?

Each card opens an official preconstructed deck’s original list, including its commander. You can inspect the cards, mana curve, and colors before making a copy. These are starting lists you can play and adjust, rather than a handful of suggested singles.

Does the price mean I can buy a sealed deck for that amount?

The displayed total adds the prices of the listed card printings. A sealed deck may cost more or less. Shipping, tax, condition, and availability affect what you pay. Compare an actual sealed offer with the singles you still need before buying.

How were these budget decks chosen?

These six lists have complete card-price coverage and the lowest totals under $100 USD in our saved price data. They are sorted from lowest to highest. This selection is based on cost; it does not rank strength, speed, or suitability for a particular group.

Can I find decks under $50 or use a different budget?

Open the precon finder with a $50 limit, or set your own maximum there. The finder also lets you narrow colors and themes. The available results depend on the latest saved card prices.

What should I look at besides price?

Choose a commander and game plan you want to play. Read the cards that support that plan, check the curve, and look at how the deck makes its colors. If two lists interest you, compare them in the precon finder before choosing.

How do I make one of these decks my own?

Open the deck and use its build action to create a draft. Make changes in the deck builder, then save a private copy when you want to keep it. The original stock list remains available as a reference.

Which cards should I upgrade first?

Test the stock list before buying upgrades. Note whether you lack mana, cards in hand, answers, or a way to finish. Use the budget alternatives tool to look for cheaper options that fill the role you actually need.

Can I test a budget deck before buying it?

Yes. Create a draft from its stock list, then use the deck testing tools to practice opening hands or check mana consistency. Testing helps you judge how the plan feels; it does not predict wins against your friends.
